A Website Is Nothing Without Traffic

Why have a website if no one can find you? There are millions of websites out there fighting for your customers. How do you get them to come to your website? Submitting your site to the major search engines is not enough... some take weeks while others months to accept your website and then who knows where it will land in the results? Number 45? Number 145?

Banner ad campaigns are an expensive proposition, and most are based on impressions rather than actual click-thrus to your site. There has to be an easier way that will bring you results quickly.

Pay Per Click Search Engines

It works like this. An advertiser selects keywords that are considered relevant and/or important to his or her business. These keywords are then submitted along with a title and description to the Pay Per Click Search Engine, and the advertiser agrees to pay a certain amount for every click that is generated from the search results that come up from a user's query. The advertiser doesn't own a keyword, if another advertiser wants the same keyword/phrase, that word/phase is up for bid. The highest bidder gets the better result and this can go as high as a given advertiser is willing to pay per click.

Choose Relevant Keywords and/or Phrases

The more terms you bid on, the more often your listings will be seen. There are search engines keyword suggestion tools that are excellent help for finding suitable terms to bid on. Use them to find other targeted - searched keyword phrases.

Write a title and description that will appeal to your target audience

Describe your product or service as clearly as possible. You want to attract interested visitors, but not encourage clicks by unlikely prospects. You don't always have to link to your home page; for many terms it might make more sense to link to a page within your site. The more directly you take the person to what they are seeking, the better. Try to include the keyword in both the title and description, as this seems to attract more clicks.

How much can you Pay Per Click?

It's important to price your bids so your new traffic will pay for itself and add to your net profits. To decide how much you can afford to bid, you need to know one thing… How much does your average new visitor add to your profits?

Suppose you are selling a product and profit $50 per sale. You have average a 1% conversion ratio (i.e. you make one sale for every 100 visitors.) So one visitor is worth $0.50 ($50/100), and that is the maximum amount you should bid at a Pay Per click Search Engine for each keyword.

Monitor your bids

Once your listings are in place, they are easy to look after. Monitor your bids. Sometimes you can reduce a bid and still keep a good position.

Give it a shot. Get your feet wet… Pay Per Click today and reap the results of targeted, risk-managed online marketing through a Pay Per Click Search Engine.
