Book Review: Hot Text - Web Writing That Works
Don Makoviney at PayPerClickAnalyst.com. One of my biggest problems with online content is with the haste it is often written.
Online writing could be much better if more authors would read "Hot Text - Web Writing That Works". But not just authors. Anyone who is responsible for content, from FAQs, to help, e-mail, marketing copy, press releases, news articles, electronic newsletters, Webzines, Search Engine Marketing, and even resumes.
The book is more about "Writing Usability" than anything else. The authors help us to keep in mind the "human factors" of our audience, and how to write for the lowest common denominator without being insulting. Some people might consider many of the suggestions common sense. However, if such is the case, then why does so much online content still suck?
